The Central Islip district superintendent sent a note to parents on Thursday saying schools will move to remote learning the week after Thanksgiving.
The superintendent says the in-person closure between Nov. 30 and Dec. 4 is a safety precaution to prevent the spread of coronavirus.
In addition, Nassau BOCES also says it will move to remote learning Nov. 30 through Dec.4. to avoid issues that could arise from holiday travel.
